Hiring for the Future: What Employers Really Want
What do employers really look for when reviewing a CV? How do companies recruit talent across different countries, and how do HR teams respond when workplace crises arise? These were some of the questions explored last Wednesday by Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) students.
The session was led by Ilma Neimarlija-Hadžić, HR Specialist at Becky d.o.o., who joined the course IBF507 Managing the Multinational Enterprise course taught by Adjunct Instructor Dr. Aida Akagić-Hodžić. Through practical examples and interactive discussion, she introduced students to the realities of human resource management in international business environments.
Ms. Neimarlija-Hadžić discussed organizational structures and roles in international organizations, recruitment and selection techniques, and the tools commonly used for candidate background checks and CV verification. She also highlighted how HR processes differ across countries, emphasizing cultural considerations, legal requirements, and the challenges of remote recruitment.
Students also worked through a crisis communication case study focused on employee relations, examining how HR teams manage sensitive situations, communicate transparently with employees, and maintain trust during periods of uncertainty.
In addition, Ms. Neimarlija-Hadžić shared valuable insights into employer expectations, explaining which skills and experiences candidates should emphasize in their résumés and what employers typically look for during the recruitment process.
The lecture was exceptionally well received by participants, who particularly appreciated its practical focus and real-world relevance. By bringing experienced professionals into the classroom, FBA continues to enrich the learning experience and provide students with direct exposure to contemporary business practices and industry perspectives.
