Overview of the PhD Programs

The 3rd cycle of study leads to the scientific title of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent; it lasts for three years and is worth 180 ECTS credits.

The Ph.D. in International Business offers two concentrations: International Business Environment and International Business Management. The International Business Environment concentration focuses on macroeconomic and institutional factors that shape global business, providing tools to assess trends, policies, and market structures. The International Business Management concentration emphasizes strategy, leadership, and HR practices in multinational firms, preparing students to navigate complex international markets.

 

The ranking of candidates for admission to the Ph.D. in International Business is based on the following criteria:

Phase 1 (mandatory)

  • Master’s degree in business and business-related fields with a minimum of 300 ECTS (applicants from distant fields may be asked to complete an additional set of courses)
  • CGPA
  • Research proposal [Click here]

Phase 2 (conditional)

  • Interview

Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of 180 ECTS Ph.D. in International Business, graduates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of international business theories.
  • Critically apply theories, methodologies, and knowledge to address fundamental gaps and questions in international business literature.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in advanced quantitative and qualitative research methods and their application in international business.
