See You in Poland: Three ELIT Students to Participate in Erasmus+ Exchange

The upcoming spring semester of the 2017/2018 academic year will see a continuation of the fruitful cooperation between the International University of Sarajevo and the University of Zielona Gora from Poland regarding the ERASMUS + exchange program. The cooperation has been ongoing for the last year and a half and was focused on promoting the field of English Language and Literature. In the upcoming exchange, IUS will send three of its ELIT students to this renowned Polish University to gain new experience and expand their knowledge in their own respective fields of study. Despite the fact that the students are from different cycles of study, all share enormous enthusiasm and eagerness to participate in the exchange.

Gorica Stevanović, a PhD student of the ELIT Department at IUS and an English Language Instructor herself at the University’s English language preparatory school, deems that this is a unique opportunity to expand her horizons.

“Going on an Erasmus exchange program is an important learning experience. It is an opportunity to meet people, learn from them, and see how things are done in an environment different from your own. I look forward to my time in Poland, a country I had never thought I would visit, and I am planning to make the most out of this chance to see what life is like somewhere else,” Gorica noted.

An undergraduate at the same Department, Selin Öksüz could not hide her emotions once she received the news that she had been selected for the ERASMUS+ Exchange program. “I have always wanted to be part of the ERASMUS program and here I am now. Once I was informed that I have the opportunity to go to Poland, I accepted it immediately, “exclaimed Selin with zeal.

Both candidates agree that apart from the educational aspect, the exchange program is an excellent chance to meet new cultures and expand their social and language skills. Furthermore, students will have time to travel around Poland and other European neighboring countries. They conclude that all students should taste the Erasmus experience and thus invite their colleagues to use the opportunities they have been given through their study at IUS.
